This past weekend I had the privilege of designing the most elegant wedding flowers at Westglow Resort and Spa in Blowing Rock, NC. The weather was perfect, the location was breathtaking, the Bride and Groom were relaxed and happy and their guests were having a blast. She requested the flowers to include unusual textures with slate blues, gray, peach with pops of coral. But the star of the show was the David Austin Juliet roses. All in all the final design was lush, elegant, luxurious and very romantic! Last night was a spectacular gathering of wedding proffesionals. Musicians, bakers, caterers, wedding gowns, photographers, floral designers and last but not least...my Vintage Rentals and Decor. The featured venue was the unveiling of the Smithmore Castle. An incredible property with vast mountain views and privacy that feels like your the Queen and King of the land. All of the vendors came representing ACES as members. ACES is a non profit group of wedding proffesionals in the High Country of North Carolina. The best place to find everything you need for a wedding. www.acesnc.com I've always said the start of a good garden is the dirt. This is a perfect example. The soil on the left is filled with perlite, Peet moss, and no sticks or bark. The soil on the right is mostly sticks and bark. So what do you think flowers and veggies would like better? |
